Our Top Tip this month is 'You Are Not Making A Stew!'
Many speakers prepare their talk by throwing everything they know about the subject onto their slides, and then trying to fit this in to the time allocated for their talk. We think this is fatal, and you are more or less guaranteed to overrun. Instead of opening the larder and throwing in all the ingredients you can find (i.e. the way some of us cook!), try thinking about what makes a good dish.
Like a great meal prepared by a top chef, the best presentation consists of simple materials, but beautifully presented. The chef will spend as much time thinking about how the dish is presented as they will about cooking it.
